Jason Lameritna is an independent personal trainer who offers classes each week at Hunter’s Creek in our outdoor pavillion. He has designed a golf fitness program to enhance strength, flexibility, power and overall health.

Now that 2010 is here- I am ready to play golf. Now if Mother Nature would cooperate I could take this bulky parka off and par a few holes! Welcome to January in Florida. I just spoke with friends in Chicago(-13 degrees) who are still chuckling when I dare complain about our weather here in sunny Orlando!

As far as weather is concerned, October was a month that got mixed up. The month started out on schedule with warm, milder days and pleasant evenings. But then something dreadful happened. October got confused and began to act like July! But in the midst of all this hotter than normal weather, here is news about Hunter’s Creek.
Recently one of the country’s largest golf travel companies came to review the course for the purpose of reporting back to its reservation agents that put together and sell Orlando golf packages. Yes, that’s right sports fans- golf is a four letter word that is not considered foul! I am not one to curse much, but golf has managed to turn me into a sailor from time to time. Does it do this to you too?
A missed three footer, a drive in the trees or a chunky wedge shot can drive me right over the edge- straight into the four letter jungle. Three holes later, I’m still mumbling about this stupid game. But I’ll be back next Saturday to play again.

Is it just me or is Fall in the air? As a native Floridian, this feels like our version of Fall in Florida. Hot during the day, less humidity and noticeably cooler in the early morning and evenings. Perfect golf weather!
The golf course is looking good. The greens are rolling smooth with good speed. And what about #2 green? Have you seen it in the last couple of weeks? It looks pretty good! If you haven’t been here in a while, I think you will be pleasantly surprised!
Hats off to the maintenance staff- they’ve worked hard this summer.
